A 9-member girl group “NiziU” belonging to JYP Entertainment, one of Korea’s major entertainment offices.
NiziU was formed in the audition program ” Nizi Project ” co-sponsored by JYP Entertainment, the management office, and Japanese music company Sony Music.
“Make you happy”, which was released as a pre-debut, caused a social phenomenon that swept Japan even before its official debut, and in December 2020, NiziU made its debut in Japan!

About NiziU
JYP Entertainment, which NiziU belongs to, has been producing popular female groups such as “Wonder Girls”, “miss A”, and “TWICE’’, and is called the “famous family of girl groups”.

Mako, the oldest member of NiziU, is the group leader.
In February 2017, she passed the JYP 13th public audition in 3rd place and became a JYP trainee.
Also, as an aside, when the topic of the Japanese version of TWICE came up in 2018, there were rumors from JYP fans that Mako, who was a trainee at the time, would become a member of the Japanese version of TWICE. Rio started dancing when she was in the second grade of elementary school, and since she was in the second grade of junior high school, she attended EXPG Studio in Nagoya (a dance school operated by LDH, which EXILE belongs to) and was active as a member of “Bannies”.
Her dance skills are so high that JYPark was unintentionally attracted to the creative dance that he performed in the Nizi Project regional preliminaries.

Miihi was scouted by JYP when she went to see her favorite TWICE concert! In 2019, she became a trainee and participated in the Nizi Project after training for about 7 months.

The youngest member of NiziU, Nina, is half-American with an American father and a Japanese mother.
Nina has lived in America since she was little and has been active as a child actor. She moved to Japan when she was 12 years old, and in about 2 years until the Nizi Project, she became fluent in Japanese!
Since the Nizi Project regional qualifiers, she has shown her outstanding singing ability with her stable singing voice and high-pitched voice.
Even to difficult questions, JYPark responded that she was 14 years old at the time and said, “You’re already a star”! There must be a lot of people who became fans after watching Nina’s regional preliminaries.
While she has a reputation for vocals, she received a severe evaluation for her dancing skills. Although she has talent, she dances without confidence, probably because she is not good at it.
