MONSTA X MEMBERs POPULARITY RANKING 2023
A seven-member boy group was born from the Korean survival program “NO. MERCY”. Since they won the survival program, they have been attracting attention even before their debut.
The group name MONSTA X is derived from the French words MON, which means “my”, STA, which means “star”, and X, which stands for “unknown existence”.
By the way, it’s MONSTA, not MONSTER. The office is StarShip Entertainment to which SISTAR and others belong. SISTAR is not SISTER either. Also, it seems that the intention of “a monster that eats the K-POP world” is also included.
Japan Debut
The catchphrase is “Fuu! MONSTA X”. The official fan club name is “MONBEBE” which means “my baby” in French, and the official Japanese fan club name is “MONBEBE JAPAN”.
On May 14, 2015, he made his debut with his first mini-album “TRESPASS”, and on May 17, 2017, he made his debut in Japan with the first Japanese single “HERO”.

The 6th most popular Monsta X member is Shownu. Shownu is the group leader of MONSTA X. He was originally a JYP trainee. He used to be a backup dancer, but he later became a starship trainee. At the time, he was rumored to be debuting with his, and he seems to be on good terms with the members of GOT7.
He is Shownu who is the oldest in the group and is like a reliable father. He is a tall and manly-looking Shownu. He is reliable, and his good personality and his popular Shownu are well-liked by the staff.

The 5th most popular Monsta X member is IM. He studied abroad in Boston and lived in Israel because of his father’s work. Therefore, he is fluent in English, and there are many parts of English rap that IM is in charge of. In MONSTA X, I am in charge of the maknae.
Jang Kyun has a history of joining the group halfway through the audition and becoming a member. His IM was originally scheduled to debut in a group called Newbility. This “participating in the middle of the audition” is common in his K-pop group that debuted from an audition program, but it seems that IM also had a rough time with the first member.
IM may look quiet and blunt, but he’s a rapper like Joohoney. At the audition, He was kept away from everyone. The members said, “IM isn’t bad, but it’s still annoying.” Jooheon was making a silent declaration.
